I’m feeling the Christmas spirit, and now that the weather is getting colder I decided it’s time to share my favorite mint hot chocolate recipe! I don’t like my hot chocolate to be too sugary, so instead of using the powder blends, you buy in the store I rather use pure chocolate. Top it off with a little mint chocolate, and this hot chocolate tastes heavenly without feeling like you’re getting sick from all the sugar after.

For 1 cup of mint hot chocolate:
- 250 ML milk (1 cup)
- 4 pieces of dark chocolate (about 15 gram)
- 2 after eight (17 gram). Can be substituted for different mint chocolate or peppermint oil. If you don’t like mint you can add extra pieces of dark chocolate instead.
Optional
- Whipped cream from a can
- Chocolate syrup
- Dr. Oetker glamour and sparkle mix
How to make mint hot chocolate
Add the milk to a small saucepan, once it’s warm you add the chocolate and the mint to the milk and you stir it until it’s smooth. Make sure you don’t let the mixture boil.
When it’s mixed and smooth, add it to a glass or mug and decorate any way you like. I used whipped cream with glamour sprinkles and chocolate syrup.
Note
Add as much chocolate to the milk as you like, I used a 72% dark chocolate bar with a little vanilla in it.
